I live in Fife, Scotland with my wife Sophie and our greyhounds Susie and Katie - both are rescue dogs. If you're looking for a wonderful pet you can't go wrong with a greyhound and there are so many that need a home!
I work in computer security and would describe myself as a database security evangelist. Along with a few of my friends I wrote the Database Hacker's Handbook and I've just finished the Oracle Hacker's Handbook.
I love to travel and my favourite place in the whole world I'd say is Iona. I'm not religious in the least but I really feel that if anywhere could be described as being spiritual then Iona's it. This photo of Katie was taken on the beach there. In a way, it's like the Maldives (my second favourite destination) but right on my doorstep :)
I'm a keen freedive photographer - a pnemuothorax in 1998 put paid to my scuba days :(
